Welcome to College Eight UCSC’s environmental college.                           Learn More Contribute

For almost four decades, College Eight has been a crucial component of the university's world renowned green programs. Among our graduates are some the nation's top environmental professionals.

With green issues increasingly assuming strategic importance, College Eight has embarked upon an ambitious curricular initiative to nurture talent. It involves a rigorous three quarter core course for freshmen that provides an interdisciplinary grounding in environmental science, engineering, and policy; a range of skill enhancing courses taught by leading practitioners from the Silicon Valley; and a green incubator to recognize and seed exceptional student ideas and initiatives. Looking ahead, we envisage building several partnerships with green innovators and entrepreneurs, and launching exciting new initiatives. To this end, we welcome ideas, co-curricular partners, and volunteers. If you'd like to help, please click on the button below and fill out the short form. We will contact you right away.

In order to realize our goal of becoming a reference point for green undergraduate education nationwide, we have also launched a major development campaign. College Eight is definitely one of the most exciting naming opportunities in higher education today, and as described in our Vision page, we have several cutting edge programs that offer tremendous return on investment. If you would like to contribute to our campaign, or know of people who might potentially be interested, please click on the "Contribute" button above. Better still, just email me!
We look forward to hearing from you!
